fallschase & tallahassee/monticello trail

Fallschase residential continues to move along with clearing, roads, stormwater ponds and the installation of stormwater pipes. As many have likely seen from Acadian Blvd., trees are gone and Upper Lake Lafayette is now visible.
Fallschase is approved for 6 phases; the map below is an illustration of the phases. A townhall meeting held in late 2019 had a presentation that described the 6 phases with an approximate timeline. As a part of the residential development 81.5 acres was conserved in 2018 and another 30.2 acres has been conserved as of January 2021 (see map below).
A US 90 Multi-Use Trail Feasibility Study is underway by the Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency (CRTPA) to examine the feasibility of constructing a paved 10 to 12-foot multi-use trail along US 90 from Pedrick Road in Tallahassee to the Monticello Bike Trail in Monticello.  The project is approximately 27 miles in length with the following project limits: Pedrick Road (Leon County) continuing eastwards to the Monticello Bike Trail in the City of Monticello (Jefferson County).  A multi-use trail provides a paved, protected area for a variety of activities, including walking, cycling, running, and jogging that accommodates users of all ages.
