Upcoming fletcher oaks drc meeting

fletcher oaks subdivision review this wednesday, may 29th @ 2:30

Please take a minute or two to comment on the proposed Fletcher Oaks subdivision on Pedrick Road and send your comments to: Anna Day--daya@leoncountyfl.gov. We need to work together to help create more sustainable and responsible developments in our community as it continues to grow. We need to maintain the character and environmental obligation of growth in our communities. 
One of the most important issues the Buck Lake community is concerned with is stormwater and flooding, due in part to a significant increase of high density development. 
Concerning issues: 
  • Five developments coming online in the near future: The Retreat on Mahan (82 units), Avery Park (38 units + general/administrative office building), Green Acres (30 units) and Fletcher Oaks (100 units), as well as the Camellia Oaks on Buck Lake (67 units)
  • Increase in storm water, particularly during heavy rains, that will need to go somewhere, i.e., Buck Lake/Upper Lake Lafayette, Pedrick Pond, Goose Pasture and Alford Arm;
  • Increased flooding of neighbors and Pedrick Pond, as well as Buck Lake Road and Goose Pasture;
  • Storm water runoff that decreases water quality due to roadway contaminants and fertilizers;
  • Significant increase in traffic on Buck Lake Road and Mahan due to five, high density developments--317 units, plus over 27,000 s.f. of general/administrative office space by early next year;

Fallschase Island Wing Company Restaurant--10,774 sf casual dining and two, two-story office/retail buildings (16,872 sf) will be reviewed by Leon County Development Support and Environmental Office on June 5th @ 10:00 in the 2nd flr. conference room.

Fletcher Oaks Subdivision | another Continuance to May 29, 2019 at 1:30 pm

The applicant has requested an extension and postponement of the ARM scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. This is the second extension and reschedule of the ARM meeting for the Fletcher Oaks subdivision development. 

The application review for Fletcher Oaks has been continued to May 29, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. The deadline for the submittal of revised documents is Wednesday, May 15th at noon. The meeting will be held at Leon County Department of Developmental Support & Environmental Management Office, Renaissance Center, 2nd Floor, 435 N. Macomb Street.

Contact Anna Day (850.606.1321) to access the comprehensive report prepared by staff  ("ARM 2 Report and Recording” subfolder) found in the "Application Review Meeting" folder in Project Dox (LSP190003).
