I, as well as some other Buck Lake community neighbors, attended the Camellia Oaks Application Review Meeting this afternoon. Kimley Horn and Jason Naumann (engineering firm and realtor) were in attendance as well. I’ve attached the staff review findings and comments that were discussed in the meeting. Nancy Garcia, Senior County Planner and other County staff clearly stated their findings regarding the Camellia Oaks on Buck Lake development so the engineering firm can revise the application accordingly before the following Development Review Committee (DRC) meeting yet to be scheduled. I will find out the date of the DRC meeting and pass it along.
Mr. John Outland, Mike Cotton, Robert Allen, Ms. Betty Steffens made comments regarding the development, e.g., the density, future phases, aquifer protection, storm water, FDOT storm water pond, traffic, egress/ingress on Mahan (Hwy 90), Buck Lake sink hole/karst, etc. We have 5 calendar days to submit questions or concerns to the county as staff prepares their recommendation for the project, but we will have additional opportunities leading up to the DRC meeting in the near future.
